Headstone & Memorial Cleaning.
The typical cost for cleaning a standard sized marble headstone varies depending on it's uncleaned condition and it's location. In order to supply a quotation for any cleaning work to a headstone or other memorial we would first carry out an inspection and then supply you with a detailed record of it's current condition together with a statement of what can be expected of the cleaning process.
A fixed cost quotation is also supplied together with photographs of the headstone or memorial. Please note that the cost of the work
as detailed in the quotation must be paid in full before any cleaning work can proceed. Once cleaned, the stone should not be chemically cleaned again for at least ten years but it should be washed with clean water regularly and then cleaned with a very soft brush before washing again with clean water and allowed to dry naturally. Be very careful when cleaning headstones that have cracks in them and if they do, please don't clean them if there is the slightest chance of frost as any water that gets frozen in the crack will expand and could damage the stone even further.
The cost of the initial inspection within the Bournemouth & Poole areas is just £10 which covers fuel and costs associated with producing the report. If you subsequently accept our quotation for carrying out any cleaning work then this charge is deducted from the quotation cost. You can of course supply us with a high quality digital image of the headstone and we can supply you with a quotation for it's cleaning after we have studied it. In certain circumstances, the rules and regulations of the cemetery strictly prohibit the cleaning of or other works to a headstone or memorial. We will always endeavour to find out if any restrictions apply during the inspection.
